Utilising concrete’s inherent qualities of heaviness and its ability to be easily shaped, it's hard and cold character contrasts the candle’s flame and the hot, molten wax. The poured concrete takes the stable shape of a truncated cone. In place of the cone’s apex a metal enclosure is encased in the concrete creating a defined void, in order to receive and hold the candle.
